Story
I came into contact with Rose Ward, the paediatric ward at the Brompton hospital when my niece, Carina Marcangelo, was born. Since birth, my niece has spent much of her short life being cared for by the nurses and doctors at the Rose and PICU Wards of the Brompton. The level of care and commitment of the staff at this ward is incredible and we know that Carina is receiving the best possible care whilst the hospital try to improve her condition
My involvement in the Bromption Fountain Charity came about when the company I work for offered to make a substantial donation to anyone who was going to take part in a London to Paris bike ride...Paris being our Head Office. I immediately spoke to my sister who had no hesitation in offering forward the Bromption Fountain as the charity that has given them the most support.
The objectives of the Brompton Fountain are twofold
1) To offer support to families of those being cared for at the Paediatric Wards of the Brompton including providing a comfortable and relaxing environment for parents and families of children undergoing treatment and offering a support network during what can be extremely distressing and anxious times.
2) To stop the planned closure of these World Leading Children's Cardiac Wards by the government following a consultation review conducted in July 2011
With this in mind, please donate as much as you can...anything will be much appreciated.
