On 27th May 2010 Jean and Melanie Ginn will be venturing into Germany to undertake a 400-mile walk along the River Rhine. This will take in total around 10 weeks.

This is something we have been planning for several months now and have chosen the charity Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation (DRWF) as this is close to our hearts. This registered charity was first established in 1998. Their long-term mission is to discover a cure for diabetes and in the meantime to support, advise and educate people living with diabetes.

Our plan is to walk around 10 – 15kms a day and we will stay in youth hostels or very basic hotels to keep our costs down. Please note that all costs for this trip will be 100% borne by ourselves and will not impact in any way on donations raised. We will be taking just a basic backpack with very few essentials (hair straighteners are must). Neither of us are ones for being without our home comforts so this is a HUGE personal challenge for us which we are relishing. Please bear this in mind when donating to this important charity. All donations are welcome, however big or small.

So please dig deep and donate now...

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
