One mad day last oct, a very fit friend said to me "do the london marathon with me." "ok I replied" feeling confident I would never get in; pretending I could start running again (after 12 years) if I really had to.  Life can give you some shocks and I was dismayed to find, on a bright Sunday morning a few months later, that I was the only one to get in! So started a long slog to get fit, look after children, work and manage the traumas of life. So far it's not too bad but it would be great if I could raise monies for a great local cause, that would help not just my friends and family but many local children and adults who would benefit from a great local community centre.
