Illumathon walk 2009 · 5 September 2009 ·

Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children's Hospice provide specialist palliative care to adults and children across the Fylde Coast and much needed support for their families. Our services are available free of charge, but with limited government funding we need to raise £14 million every year.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As many of you know I have taken part in Race for Life for the last three years raising an amazing £7,000 for Cancer Research.  This year I felt I wanted to do something different so I’m taking part in the Illumathon.  The Illumathon is a walk starting at midnight through Blackpool Illuminations in support of Trinity Hospice and Brian House Childrens Hospice

Most of you I'm sure are aware of my reasons for doing this and Trinity Hospice holds a special place within my heart.  For those of you that don’t know I lost my mum to cancer in 2006 and Trinity Hospice looked after her in the last few months of her life.  The staff there are amazing.  They not only cared for my mum but they offered unbelievable support to my family at a time when we probably needed it most.  I will admit it's still tough - people tell you the firsts (birthday, christmas, anniversary....) are the worst, but it’s still hard 3 years on.

I know that times are hard but I'm writing this to ask you all to please sponsor me again!!   I want to say again a big thankyou to those of you who have sponsored me previously and please support me again; any amount you give will make a difference and will be matched by my employer National Grid .  If you're a new supporter; a very big thanks for your support
