Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After the initial shock of discovering I had been ‘fortunate!’ enough to win a ballot place for the London Marathon 2013, I realised it would be a wasted opportunity if I didn’t try to raise money for a worthwhile charity.
So I decided to set up a fundraising page to raise money for a charity very close to the heart of a friend of mine who was diagnosed approximately 8 years ago with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.
I am running for CMLsupport.org.uk. This is a charity that was founded with the launch of their website in April 2000, and registered as a formal UK charity in 2006. It was set up to help and give support to patients who have Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia - a rare form of leukaemia. This is an excellent charity which not only helps support the patients, but gets heavily involved with fighting for new drugs to be approved and adopted by ‘NICE’, a government organisation.
I’m hoping that the thought of raising money for such a good cause will help me get through the gruelling training regime of pounding the pavements through the winter months ......... it’s the hardest challenge I’ve done to date and I’ll appreciate every penny that I manage to raise.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for your support.
