Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have decided to maintain the "My Story" section as a blog. The most recent entries appear first.
Sep 2011:
An incredible 79 people donated to my London Marathon run in April this year. They have all been thanked individually but I would like to post this extra thank you for helping me to far exceed my target of £750! I am extremely grateful. I have therefore updated my page to double the target to £1500, with the inention of trying to run another Marathon in April 2012, to see if I can do it just a little bit faster than the last tortoise to arrive at the finish line.
Mar 2011:
I decided to run the London Marathon some time ago, but it is my first Marathon and I did not wish to tell everyone until I had done enough training to feel confident that I could finish. Then things started to go wrong. In November I caught flu, in December I sprained an angle in a snowed-in car park, and in January I sprained the other ankle falling down some concrete steps. That lost me three months training, and all nothing to do with running! So here we are, and I’m not confident, but I am going to give it my best shot. As I will be 61 this year I consider that I may not get another chance. If this story helps me receive your sympathy vote, that’s fine with me so long as it translates into a good donation. I am running for a great cause, neurosurgical research, which includes brain tumours, epilepsy and other conditions.
JustGiving say: donating through them is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with them – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks and best wishes.
Jeff
