London to Cambridge 60 Mile Cycle · 22 July 2012

Solving Kids’ Cancer UK helps families affected by neuroblastoma with tailored support and information, funds ground-breaking research, and campaigns for access to safer, more effective treatments.

Story

Hi! It's that time of year again!

I've made a bit of a challenge for myself this year, no training since the last cycle ride, so this 60 miles will be HARD... Who said life was easy?

I am doing the ride this year to raise a few quid for a young lad in St. Albans called Bailey.

Please take a moment to read his story and give what you can. And as always - Thank You.

"In 2011 Bailey was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer which affects about 100 children in the UK at any one time. Sadly this is the second time he has had to fight this terrible illness and he is only 12 years old. He was first diagnosed at the tender age of 4 and although only given a small chance of survival against all the odds he came through. He is a real fighter!

Bailey is a wonderful young man who has had to grow up far too fast because of his battle with cancer. He has had to deal with things that adults would find difficult and yet he is hanging in there. Our mission is to help Bailey beat this terrible disease and just enjoy being a child once again. We can do this by raising £500,000 to pay for potential life saving treatment in the USA or Germany. Unfortunately because Bailey has suffered from neuroblastoma before and has now relapsed he has been unable to secure funding via the NHS to pay for treatment. The eligibility criteria for funding states anyone who has relapsed cannot be given financial assistance. Please help US to help Bailey win this battle."
