RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Three years ago I was invited by Acer's UK team to hike the Three Peaks and raise funds for Mountain Rescue. Suffice to say, it was an unmitigated success.

And because every success needs a sequel, I'm joining up with (some of) the old team to tackle the Isles of Scilly over the course of three days and raise money for the RNLI.

I and my fellow journalists will cross the five largest islands; St Mary's, Bryher, Tresco, St Martin's and St Agnes on a 75 mile trek by any means necessary. That means (I'm told) on foot, open-sea swimming, kayaking and coasteering.

When not doing that we'll be cleaning beaches to help the environment and make the place look even prettier than it already does.

I know from firsthand experience the amazing job the RNLI do so any help you can offer would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.
