Story

Parents, staff and learners at Rickmansworth School walked across the North Yorkshire Moors, from Osmotherley to Ravenscar on Saturday 3rd July 2010 in an attempt to raise £50,000.

Some walkers covered the full 42 miles, some 21 miles and some 10 miles.

80% of the money we raise will go towards a fitness suite for the new gym block at the school. The remaining money we raise will be split between the Sunflower Centre ( for victims of domestic violence), the Colne Valley Special Sailors (allows people with dis-abilities to go sailing) and the Richard Johnson Appeal.

Jeff and Sarah completed the 42 mile walk in 16.5 hours, starting at 4.40am and finishing just before 9.10pm. Simon had to retire hurt after completing the first 11.5 miles over the really hilly bits. He walked the last two miles to Ravenscar with us. This was the hardest thing any of us have ever done and we all have a real sense of achievement.

We have been over-whelmed with the sponsorship from friends and family so far.

Please continue to help us raise as much money as possible for these very worthy causes.

Many thanks

Jeff, Sarah and Simon
