It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Hi All,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a lot of you will know I sadly lost my beautiful mum (Vicky) to Pancreatic Cancer in August 2009 after only being diagnosed with having it 7 weeks earlier.  It is devastating losing someone close to you to this awful cancer.  Seeing what she went through and seeing her deteriorate over those 7 weeks was so hard.  I really miss her.

I hadn't heard of pancreatic cancer before my mum was diagnosed with having it.  It is one of the least known cancers but one of the most deadly.  The survival rate is not good.

I am running the LONDON MARATHON on 25th April 2010 in memory of my mum.  My motivation is to raise the necessary funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK.  Pancreatic Cancer UK aims to provide information, support, awareness and research into pancreatic cancer to aid earlier diagnosis and stimulate and enable more research to develop more effective treatment. The charity is committed to improving survival rates for this most fatal cancer.

All my family and friends have already offered me so much support.  All I ask is that you please carry on this support by sponsoring me to do this run.  This run is a very important one and I want to raise as much money as possible for the charity - Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks

Jemima x
