I am running in the Great Manchester 10K to raise money and awareness for Parkinson's UK.

My dad has been struggling with Parkinson's disease for over 10 years, which has significantly affected him. For a long time we did not know what was wrong with my dad as Parkinson's is a hard condition to diagnose, and now even though he has been diagnosed there are constant changes to his medication and he will never get better as Parkinson's is a degenerative disease and there currently is no cure. A lot of people ask us what Parkinson's is and many people do not understand the side effects that dad displays.

Therefore, by fundraising for Parkinson's UK I want to be able to raise awareness of the condition and help towards research for more effective ways of treating the condition, and hopefully a cure!
