Miss Galaxy England 2017 · 12 March 2017

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

I am competing in the finals of Miss Galaxy England 2017 on the 12th March. Doing so I hope to raise money for The Christie NHS Foundation.

The Christie is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, treating over 44,000 patients a year.
We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 26% of patients are referred to us from other parts of the country. We provide radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 10 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services. We are also an international leader in research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years. We run a large, high quality, dedicated clinical research environment where our patients can participate in complex and early phase clinical trials, with around 400 trials taking place at any one time.
