UPDATE!

It's May 4th-and I will be relying on the cheesy line from star wars that is linked with this date (may the force be with you) as I worryingly attempt to run 10k as part of my training.

The race is in 5 days...flipping heck!!! I have suffered 2 cycles of illness in the last few months, and training has been a hard slog....but jenny has come to the mounatin...and it is Huge!!

Say a little prayer please .... and oh donate!!! dig deep as I try and breathe deep x

Right friends,

Let me tell you the little story of my life;

I was somehow born into a fit and healthy family (granted my Dad may have had his heyday, but when he was younger he was a bit of whizz at the old table tennis and badminton!).

I do not have this gene-I did not ever play for the County, I do not enter competitive runs, I only played for my school team because they were severely limited in numbers-sad but true!

So 10k-yes for a few of you it may seem like a mere 6 mile challenge-but for me, this is my Everest-this is my lifetime achievement...if I manage it!

(The rest of my life is a sad tale of woe that was born out of my lack of success on the sporting field, that I tried to make up for in my academic achievements and rivetting social life...I will not bore you with the details)*

Right, so here's the deal:

I am attempting to run 10k in Bristol on May 9th in the simple belief that supporting these causes will help change the world (no small feat then). The causes are

the Poor (World Vision Zimbabwe),

the Oppressed (Stop the Traffik www.stopthetraffik.org)

and the Needy (3 local Bristol charities-St.Peter's hospice, the Crisis Centre and The Noise).

I know we are in a recession, I know we are broke, but I also know even when times are hard we want to be able to be generous and give.

So friends...Here is your chance.. and I realise I am aiming high, but you know I know a lot of people..so if you've read this far, then whatever you were gonna give double it...its really worth it!!

Now know that I am giving you a virtual big fat smacker on the lips out of sheer gratitude!!!!

.and here's the tax-payback part.....
