The Food Chain exists to ensure that poor nutrition does not compromise the health prospects of people living with HIV in London. We help people get well, stay well and lead independent lives through crisis grocery deliveries, cookery classes, communal lunches and specialist dietetic advice.

Story

You all knew you'd never see me taking part in a charity marathon and goodness knows I'd never make it through a sponsored silence, so how about this - I will be singing for 10 hours in aid of The Food Chain (http://foodchain.org.uk), a fab charity helping those living with HIV to stay healthy and happy and offering a sense of community. As you probably know, HIV is a condition one can live with for many, many years before developing AIDS and this period can be elongated with the right treatments, medication and nutrition. The Food Chain are there to offer help for people living with HIV and chronic illnesses brought about by the condition, as they believe no-one should have 'their ability to get well and stay well adversely affected by lack of access to appropriate food.'

I know that most of us are feeling the pinch at the moment, but anything you can offer would be gratefully received by the chaps and chapettes at TFC and, hey, it'll mean the fact I'm bound to destroy my vocal chords (and a few people's ear drums) won't be in vain! If you want to, you can also accompany your donation with a song request and I'll kick out a choon for you.
