Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!

Recently a friend of mine suggested that a group of us run the Wilmslow Half Marathon in aid of Spinal Research. This is because 10 years ago his dad was in a car crash that left him paralysed from the waist down. He came to talk to us about the difficulties of living with such a condition and about the wonderful work that Spinal Research do - it's hard to believe how different and difficult life is after an accident like that but with help from charities like Spinal Research the quality of life can be improved tenfold for sufferers of spinal injuries.

I am by no means a runner and this is something very scary and new to me. Training to run a half marathon is, as you would imagine, intense and exhausting and on top of this I have recently been diagnosed as asthmatic, but despite this I am determined to finish all 13 miles on the big day!

Your support towards both my running efforts and this amazing charity would be hugely appreciated and will make such a difference, so please, help me out and sponsor me to run (so that I can't change my mind!) for a brilliant cause!

Thanks!
