Although I'm not a cyclist (I know how to cycle of course but my appearances on a saddle aren't what you'd call regular) I do like a challenge and in Sheffield terms there are few causes as worthy as this one. We are incredibly lucky to to have a splendid Children's hospital in Sheffield and a few hours in the saddle is the least can do. As someone kindly pointed out, it will not be a total shock if I break something along the way and so knowing that I'm raising money will very much ease the inevitable pain.
