At least 21 people with epilepsy in the UK die each week. SUDEP Action, is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting those bereaved by epilepsy, raising awareness of epilepsy risks and tackling deaths in people with epilepsy, including Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).

Story

Earlier in the year I took part in a relay where the amazing LUUWHC swam the equivalent of 3 crossings of the English Channel! With almost a total lack of training on my part, it was a tough feat! Now this year (and with hopefully more training!) I will be taking part in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks - where we will aim to finish in under 10 1/2 hours! - and the Leeds Half Marathon (gulp).   Me, along with my fab LUUWHC team, would massively appreciate any donation towards these challenges we are taking on in order to raise money for SUDEP.

SUDEP is a charity very close to LUUWHC's heart. Emily Sumaria, a former member of the club, passed away a few years ago due to Sudden and Unexpected Death in Epilepsy. We want to raise awareness and help support the families that have to go through these difficult situations and remind them that they are not alone.

Although most people with epilepsy live long and healthy lives, epilepsy is one of the top-ten causes of early death. At SUDEP Action, we focus our efforts on providing tools to help keep people safe and on the priorities that bereaved families tell us are important: To prevent deaths; To be supported; To be involved. We have won national and international honours for our achievements to date, but we recognise there is much more work to do, and this is why we need your donations. With your help we can strive to make a difference.
