If you haven't heard from me for a long time this is why - Envision.
I am privileged to be one of its co-directors which means its ultimately my responsibility to ensure that all our lovely staff get paid every month so we can keep delivering the work . . . and that's on top of a five hour round-trip commute. Not much sleep then?
WHY? Simple, its a really great charity and one which deserves to thrive, I'd really like to help make that happen, which is why I need the support of my friends.
I'm still following my passion to support young people growing up in some of our more deprived communities, but now I'm using the vehicle of social action projects to further their development. This year over 2,000 young people joined our clubs. We've provoked them to look outside themselves and identify what kind of future they want to create for society. Inspiringly they have taken the initiative to set up their own own projects . . from tackling racism in their local community global climate change. You can find out more at www.envison.org.uk or click on the video link on the left. Who says 16 year olds can't be bovered?
Knowing that times are tough, some of our volunteers have taken the initiative to organise a sponsored walk. I've promised to show my support and join them. Apparently you do need to be fit for 20 miles so I am walking to work (across London - no not from Winchester). So what you are really sponsoring me for is adding another hour to an already ardourous trip and an even earlier morning start. I want to raise £500 and could do that if just a hundred of you donate me a fiver. . .
THANK YOU
