Coeliac disease is not an allergy or simple food intolerance. In fact it's a genetic autoimmune disease, where the body's immune system attacks its own tissues, causing inflammation of the small intestine. This inflammation results in severe damage to the lining of the small intestine, which stops the body properly absorbing nutrients and causes painful side effects. I want to help support Coeliac UK in the great job they do at raising awareness of this condition, offering practical support to those diagnosed and researching into Coeliac disease.

I have a long way to go and I will be cutting back the booze and the late nights over the coming months and stepping up the training and your sponsorship will help keep me going and remind me of why I am doing this.
