My story

Hi Everybody!!

For those who don't know I have a gorgeous little boy called Connor, Connor has autism. For people who don't know about Autism it is a lifelong developmental disability.

The three main areas of difficulty which all people with autism share are sometimes known as the 'triad of impairments'. They are:

  • Difficulty with social communication
  • Difficulty with social interaction
  • Difficulty with social imagination.

People with autism have said that the world, to them, is a mass of people, places and events which they struggle to make sense of, and which can cause them considerable anxiety. As connor is getting older he is struggling more with busy social enviroments and this causes him great stress. After finding out about www.support-dogs.org.uk and reading about how they change the life of children just like connor I decided to put Connors name down on the waiting list. We have now been on the waiting list nearly a year.  Support Dogs receives no government funding and relies on donations to fund it's life transforming work, and unfortunatly they have run out of funds. So i have decided if Connor is the get the help he needs I need to do a massive fund raiser for the charity.

The fund raising includes, a charity day with live bands and raffle, raffle prizes are needed so please email me if you can help with this jennymarkham24@googlemail.com. The day for this will be advertised on my facebook when it is arrange.

I am also organising a 3 legged hull challenge on 24 October 2009, this will involve people paring together and getting sponsored and walking through hull with special t-shirts, children and adults are invloved, again if your are interested inn joining in please email me and i will send you a sponsor form, this will also be advertised on facebook.

If you would just like to donate money that is fantastic also and you can do this below.
