My Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to do my bit in helping with the battle against cancer. As many of you know it is very close to my heart, as I lost mum, granny and grandpa, from this terrible disease, and now our dear Katherine is battling with it.

I am organising a Cancer Research charity afternoon tea party, in our local Aberlour village church.

I have always baked and made crafts for other events, but have never organised a charity event  of my own. I am really out of my comfort zone! But compared with everyone that battles with cancer,and those lives it touches, this is the least I can do.With your help and support,we can raise  money for Cancer Research, to enable them to carry on with the fantastic job they do. 

Let's hope that one day a cure for all cancers will be found.

It is something small I am doing, but hopefully it will make a big difference.

Well my Afternoon Tea went ahead, the weather was glorious, beautiful and sunny and warm, I had filled my car with all thirty six cakes, buns, scones and traybakes, and took them to church to set up. The Afternoon Tea was extreamly well attended buy locals from Aberlour, the surrounding villages, and tourists. At one point we had people queing outside the church door to come in, so we had to put up two more tables to accomadate everyone!!

 'My Heroes, as they are affectionally known, where wonderful, helping the afternoon run smoothly, I couldn't of done this without their help and support. I am also exreamly thankful of the contributon of cakes, fudge, sausage rolls and scones people brought in, everything by the end of the day had been eaten!

We had a wonderful afternoon and everyone who came, and those that helped really enjoyed themselves.  After everyting was counted and counted again, we made an outstanding £ 1, 344. 40p !!!!
