Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

My lovely mum had a heart attack at the age of 77. Fit and active with many friends and interests, she is a valued part of any group and our family.  She has so much to give and much more life to enjoy.
Happily, after extensive surgery, she made it through albeit a slightly
slowed down version of her former self and has gone on to enjoy 5 years – and counting, of full and active life.

During her surgery the surgeon's were delighted to discover that my mum's heart was the wrong way round.  In gratitude for all the NHS has done for her my mum is letting them have it when she's finished with it - an unusual "thank you" present.

Heart Disease is still a big killer and the more resources the BHF have, the more lives can be saved. More importantly, we can learn how to take charge of our diets and lifestyles from the start to beat it.

Many in "Steph's Fitness" group would never have considered taking on a distance of 10k in a formal race or fun run,  but we have agreed as a group to participate in this event to give us a goal and encourage us to become more active in order to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

We'd love you to support us either with a small donation to either of our charities or by turning up on the night and joining us.

All we have to do is beat Sumo Steph ... how hard can it be???

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
