Please help us to support the wonderful work of TROOP AID. </strong></span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000000;">The Run</span></span></strong></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">On Sunday <strong>17 April 2011</strong>, <em>Ben Parkinson, Andrew Buckham, Katrina Edwards, Jenny Barton, Robert Foster, Amy Clark, Paul Weston, Toni Webster and Kate Lax </em>will be tackling a challenging&nbsp;10k run round the Don Valley area in Sheffield, to raise vital funds for <strong>Troop Aid</strong>. </span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000000;">Ben's Story</span></span></strong></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;"> <p>Ben Parkinson was seriously&nbsp;injured&nbsp;by a land&nbsp;mine whilst serving with the British Army in Afghanistan.&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">&nbsp;</span></p> </span></p> <p>He lost both of&nbsp;his legs and suffered a traumatic&nbsp;brain injury, fractures to his skull, cheekbone, nose, jaw and pelvis and vertebrae, as well as serious damage to his spleen and chest.</p> <p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">To find out more about Ben please click here:</span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">&nbsp;</span><a href="http://www.irwinmitchell.com/ClientStories/Pages/Ben-Parkinson.aspx">http://www.irwinmitchell.com/ClientStories/Pages/Ben-Parkinson.aspx</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Ben's determination and fundraising generosity has inspired Troops and civilians alike and we are proud to be joining him in the Lord Mayor's run.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> </p> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="color: #000000;">For an Excellent Cause...</span></span></strong></p> <p>Troop Aid is a charity which supports our injured Troops returning to the United Kingdom from the war zones.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This includes providing <strong>Grab Bags </strong>containing the &lsquo;basic essentials&rsquo; to troops staying in military hospitals who arrive back without their personal effects or clothing.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Troop Aid </strong>have also sponsored two rooms at Selly Oak Hospital for the families of Armed Forces Personnel who are in intensive care.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Their funds come entirely from fund raising events and donations from organisations such as Help for Heroes, the local business community, the <strong>general public</strong> and several British expatriate communities overseas.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>So PLEASE give <em>generously </em></strong><em>so that Troop Aid&nbsp;can continue to help our Troops returning from conflicts for as long as possible.</em></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">How to Donate</span></strong></p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Your details are safe with JustGiving &ndash; they&rsquo;ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
