We raise awareness of AIDS through cricket to strengthen communities and fight disease

Story

Hi all,

As you may, or may not know, I am travelling to Botswana in April to carry out voluntary charity work through the medium of cricket. (http://www.cricketwithoutboundaries.com). The charity uses cricket coaching skills and the enjoyment of taking part in the sport to highlight awareness of HIV/aids to children and teenagers who need it the most.

The charity has three main goals which are:

1. To spread cricket through coaching children and teaching adults how to coach

2. To link the sport to HIV/AIDS awareness and incorporate these messages into coaching sessions.

3. To bring together and empower local communities through cricket.

I will be paying for my flights, vaccinations and food myself so every penny raised is for the benefit of the children in Botswana.

Thanks for your support.

Jen

About the charity

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.
