Golden-Oldies "Goldies" brightens the lives of 1000s of older, often isolated, people across England & Wales (Goldies Cymru), with fun daytime social Sing&Smile groups, alongside intergenerational activities, Age Awareness days, concerts and festive celebrations.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am a trustee for this amazing charity. Golden-oldies runs singing sessions for older people and people with learning difficulties. The sessions bring a lot of joy to people - bringing them together for songs, laughter and chat. Many of the people who attend, live alone and can feel very isolated. Recent research shows how much benefit these individuals get from participating in such sessions. There have been numerous anecdotes of people with dementia becoming lucid and engaging with the music and others reporting a lowering of depression and anxiety as a direct result of attending the Golden-Oldies. The sessions are led by highly trained session-leaders, most of whom are musicians. Raising money is fundamental to maintaining the current sessions and enabling us to open more. We would love to get the whole country singing evenually! Please help - any money you give will directly benefit the people the charity works with.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
