In celebration of my 50th birthday in March I decided I really needed to get away from it all... and you can't get much further away than Nepal!
I am self-funding this trip, (or should I say Martyn's funding this trip) so all money raised will go to SSAFA. Rather than having a party and lots of presents I could probably do without I thought it would be better to ask for donations for our Armed Forces, particularly at this time.
This is a demanding ten day trek with daily hikes of between five and seven hours and two nights spent above 3000m. I shall be leaving England on the 19th March and will be returning on the 4th April 2010.
Obviously I will need to improve my fitness and there can be no better incentive than knowing I am doing something to help others.
