I have been training for many years with a mixed martial arts club known as SPS which stands for the Self Protection System.  On 19th March this year, a few months before my 50th birthday, I am grading for my black belt and thought that as I am facing this challenge, I would raise some money for charity at the same time.

The charity I have chosen to raise money for is Jewish Care, but specifically for the Vi & John Rubens Care Home in Gants Hill, Ilford, the Home specialises in nursing and dementia care. This is a cause close to my heart as I would like to raise the money in memory of my close friend's father, Don Ross who recently passed away there and lived there towards the end of his life.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
