For over 70 years the Percy Hedley Foundation has delivered over 30million hours of care, education and support to tens of thousands of disabled people across the North East. With your support we will transform lives and offer every opportunity possible to live their lives to the full.

Story

Hi Everyone...

Well after a year off, I have signed up for another couple of hours of intense pain in the 2009 Great North Run.

Why? ... well the same reason that gave me the motivation to drag my middle-aged bones around a 13.1 mile course two years ago......

My college friend Clive has been blessed with five kids, and the youngest one, Alfie, has some serious challenges. He is autistic and that means he needs special care.

The Percy Hedley Foundation has, quite simply, changed his life. Since he's been at the school he's a different kid... he can now engage with the world around him, play with his brothers and sisters. And give his mum cuddles.

The school offers the same specialist treatment to lots of kids. Others have to be turned away because of funding problems.

I'm hoping you will make a small donation to the Percy Hedley Foundation. It's a reward for my half marathon heroics. And it will also help improve life for kids who really need a break.

Thanks !
