We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thank you for taking the trouble to visit my page - I am hoping to raise £15,000+ as part of a target of £1,000,000 for this adventure organised by the tireless Charles Rifkind (excuse the pun)

"The 100 Cyclists" Charity Event is a cycle ride from London to Brussels, via Amsterdam (dont say it...) helping the following two charities:-

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) exists to find the cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications.  Type 1 diabetes currently affects about 350,000 people in the UK alone, over 25,000 of whom are children.  It is a chronic, life threatening condition that has a lifelong impact on those diagnosed with it and their families.  JDRF raises money to drive world class research to prevent, treat and cure type 1 diabetes.

The British Red Cross: HIV and AIDS are having a devastating effect on people in South Africa, where five and a half million people are currently living with the disease.  Children and young people are particularly affected; one in five have lost one or both parents to HIV and AIDS and are often left homeless and destitute as a result.  The British Red Cross helps orphans and vulnerable children by providing them with practical support such as food and access to school places and medical care.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated

Thank you - Jeremy
