My story
Dear All,
The BIG 50 is next week and some people have been asking me what I'd like as a present. Rather than have my friends and family spend their hard earned money on wildly expensive presents (or not!), I thought it would be particularly rewarding for my overly-rapid ageing to at least benefit those less able to help or protect themselves.
I am especially keen to support Survival International, an effective and fiesty NGO which is the only international organisation supporting tribal peoples worldwide. It was founded in 1969 after an article in the Sunday Times highlighted the massacres, land thefts and genocide taking place in Brazilian Amazonia. Like many modern atrocities, it took place in the name of 'economic growth'. Sadly, since then corporate greed and governmental complicity continue unabated worldwide.
Donating to Survival through JustGiving is simple, fast, tax efficient (for British residents) and secure. So thank you for humouring me and I greatly appreciate whatever support you can give.
Warmest wishes
Jeremy
