Story
My daughter Rebecca, my brother Jim and I are taking on the back bone of England, a gruelling 267 mile walk along the Pennine way, hopefully in around two weeks. Our aim is to raise money for a charity very close to our hearts the CF Trust. As many of you might know my son Harry was born with the condition of Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF effects the movement of salt and water in and out of his cells. This makes his lungs susceptible to infections and a reliance on medication, physio and exercise to keep them free. CF also requires him to take medication to help with his digestion. CF is a genetic condition and each week five babies are born with the condition and two people die.
The CF Trust is facilitating research into new treatments to try to cure, improve and extend the life of people with CF. Currently over half the population with cystic fibrosis will live to the age of 41. With your help, support and donations no matter how big or small we can insure that children like Harry will have a longer and better quality of life.
