MoneySpinners Big Bike Ride : Land's End to JOhn O'Groats · 25 September 2009

Naomi and Jack's provide 24 hour care to more than 550 life limited and life threatened children and young adults from across central southern England. We offer respite, community, emergency, end of life and post bereavement care on good days, difficult days and last days.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my 'Big Kids Bike Ride' page.

As you have heard then, I have signed up to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats at the end of September.  Apparently this ride is abbreviated to 'LE JOG', although to my mind that somewhat belittles it since it is a hell of a long way (977.6 miles) !

Anyway I am riding with a group of 25 guys who are collectively called the 'MoneySpinners' - we are all in the financial services business, and we all want to give something back, as well as proving to ourselves that we can do this.

There are two children's charities that I am riding for :

>> the first one is Naomi House, a children's hospice in Winchester that lost much of its funding in the financial crisis with the Icelandic banks collapsing. Naomi House provide respite care, terminal care and bereavement support for children and families from across the south of England.

>> the second one is the NSPCC which do all manner of great things for children up and down the country

I am trying to raise £10,000 in total. As I am riding for two charities - I have had to set up two Just Giving pages.  This one donates money to Naomi House.

So please dig deep and donate now.

And I'll let you know how I get on.  I am planning to set up a twitter link so will be tweeting as I go come September.

Thanks a lot

Jeremy
