BOSPA and a Gastric By Pass Saved My Life !

For those of you that have met me after October 2008 you may find it hard to believe that I used to weigh 23 stone and was occasionally walking with a walking stick.

As I now weigh 12 stone and am planning to run the London Marathon to raise money for BOSPA the charity that supported me throughout the operation.

The majority of my weight was gained following an armed robbery whilst working for Ingram Micro in Belgium in 1998 when I was taken hostage and dumped in some woods.

My weight was spiralling out of control and if something wasn't done I was eating and drinking myself into an earlier grave.

The 25 April 2010

Why I am doing it ?

I have always thought of myself as a runner and I want to give something back, BOSPA changed my life, before I joined the group I was unsure even if I was going to go ahead with the surgery after one session I was convinced all I had to do was choose the right operation for me.

The support I have received from my BOSPA group been amazing.

The weight loss I have experienced is fantastic I am a different person now, I have energy, I don’t have the aches and pains associated with carrying that extra ten stone around.

Please help me help the charity that changed my life forever !
