Summer 2015 I plan to complete the
Inca Trek as part of a charity scheme jointly organised by the Epilepsy Society
and Loughborough University, where I am a second year student. On the 6thAugust
I will be flying out to Cusco before travelling to the site of the start of the
Inca Trek where I will attempt to reach my goal and explore the ruins at Machu
Picchu, ‘the Lost City of the Inca’s’ after several days of hard trekking. I am
currently reading Social Psychology and am thoroughly enjoying the course. In
the future I am hoping to become a Sports Psychologist, it is my dream to work
with athletes and to help them improve in their chosen sport, at all levels
from complete beginners to those performing at the highest level. Since
beginning university last September I have been trying to make the most of the
opportunities that are available. I am currently the Social Psychology student
representative , where I am able to help make a difference to the academic
experience of students at Loughborough. I am also the volunteering
representative for my hall of over 300 people, for this I ensure that as many
people as possible get involved in volunteering, these activities range from
one off projects to projects that run throughout the year. The opportunities
available at university are amazing and I believe that the chance to take part
in the Inca Trek and to raise money for such an incredible charity is an
opportunity too good to be missed.
