In 2001 I vowed I would never do it. In 2004 I wondered if I could... And now, in 2012’s Olympic year, I have finally found the courage to run a marathon – in April – in Paris! Since January 4, I’ve covered over 400k in training - aiming for a time under 4hrs. A slight glitch cropped up a fortnight ago when the dreaded ‘runner’s knee’ struck, but with some excellent physio and sound cross training (and some serious painkillers for the race, just in case!) I’ll be thrilled if I can do it in 4hrs 20.
