Stockholm Marathon · 5 June 2010

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common cause of disability in young people. Once diagnosed it will affect the rest of a person's life. The charity MS Research is “Looking forward to seeing the back of MS!” We aim to fund high quality research and to seek better ways of treating MS.

Story

Hey guys,

basically i've been a bit of a plonker and having never run more than 7 miles before i've signed up with my mate Andy to run a marathon. over the next few months i'll be ramping up the training, ditching the biscuits for energy bars and the booze for protein shakes in an attempt to get into shape by june 2010.

Im going with Andy and Tariq who are physios which is handy so they can ensure my body doesnt fall apart completely before reaching the finishing line. Another plus is i'll be running in Stockholm which is apparently a lovely city...on the downside i'll be running 26 miles... which is quite a long way.

Im aiming to raise around 700 quid for the charity MS research which looking for a treatment for Mulitple Sclerosis as well as providing support for the sufferers. MS is a really crappy neurological disease which is prevalent in around 1/800 people in Europe and North America including some good friends and family of mine. Symptoms include problems with vision, coordination and balance and speech as well as muscle spasms and loss of sensation in skin.

I'd be really happy if you could donate something to get me towards my target. It doesnt have to be alot but it will still make a difference.

Thanks so much,

jess
