At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On Saturday 5th September 2020, I am taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with my partners in crime, Cheryl and Imogen. Together we will embark on a 24 mile trek through the stunning Yorkshire Dales to the peaks of Pen-y-ghent (2,277ft), Whernside (2,415ft) and Ingleborough (2,372ft). The circuit includes over 5,000ft of acsent and descent and we aim to complete the challenge in less than 12 hours!

"Dementia research is underfunded when compared to the huge economic cost of the condition. This underfunding means that there are relatively few researchers working in the field of dementia. Alzheimer's Society is dedicated to addressing this shortage through our Dementia Research Leaders programme." (Alzheimer's Society 2018).

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
