RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

SO WHY THE LIFEBOATS?

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales.

The RNLI provides an essential public service and receives no support from the government:

  • 2013: Launches - 8,304; People Rescued - 8,384; Lives Saved - 325
  • Fact:  Tower Lifeboat station on the Thames is the busiest station in the RNLI
  • RNLI Lifeguards responded to 19,594 incidents and helped 23,505 people
Your support would be much appreciated!

many thanks,
fraser & jess
