The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

On 7th October, I will be cycling 45 miles from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle as part of Team Accenture, to raise money for The Princes Trust.

The Princes Trust is a charity I have a lot of respect for. It focuses on giving young people, particularly those who are unemployed or from deprived areas, the skills and confidence they need to unlock their potential. It supports with everything from getting qualifications, building life skills, mentoring and preparation for work, sports and creative tutoring and finding a job.

Some of you may know that I completed the P2P ride last year. This was an ill-advised venture, completed without any training or proper cycling shorts, and on a rented bike. I finished in 5 hours 30 minutes, and was kept company by my lovey friend Yumi, who definitely could have finished at least an hour earlier if she didn’t wait for me (shout out to Yumes).

This year I am taking the challenge more seriously…I have my own bike, my own cycling shorts and a training plan (sort of). This is a big challenge for me and I would REALLY appreciate the support in the form of a donation to this fantastic charity!

Thank you – and wish me luck!
