Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We hear so much on the news about refugees and their plight, it feels good to be able to something to help- by supporting the Big Walk 2016, and helping to raise funds to support vulnerable and refugee students and academics, we can give them a chance at a better education to allow them greater control over their lives and destiny.
I am walking 120 miles in 6 days from Southport to Tankersley and will then be joined by hundreds of University staff, students and alumni to walk back to Sheffield. Please support us by donating generously for this important cause!
Specifically, the funds raised will go towards to both Institute of International Education's Scholar Rescue Fund and Council for At-Risk Academics, both of which help academics in immediate danger or forced into exile. Additionally, funds will go towards scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students seeking asylum in the UK.
