Body Shop Foundation - Sahara Challenge 2012 : Group 1 · 25 February 2012 ·

We give funds to small innovative charities to make the world a better place

Story

Did you know that today 4,000 children will die from dirty water?

So I've pledged to raise £2,500 and to trek the Sahara with The Body Shop Foundation over 5 days, 100kms, lots of sand, hot desert sun, scorpions & snakes.

It will be worth it to help to raise money for Water Aid and deliver clean drinking water to communities in Africa.

Anything you can contribute, whatever currency will be greatly appreciated!

  • 1.4 million children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unclean water and poor sanitation - or one child every 20 seconds. This equates to 160 infant school classrooms lost every single day to an entirely preventable public health crisis. (WHO/WaterAid)

  • Training has already begun, we'll be encountering a volcanic massif, rose dunes, the Maider El Kbir plateau, the col of Bab n'Ali and climbing Jebel Lamrakeb!

Please dig deep and donate now.
