Story
I’mwalking 13.3 miles from 1 Angel Square to Rochdale Pioneers Museum to tackleloneliness with the Co-op and the British Red Cross.
Loneliness is indiscriminate - it affects people ofall ages and backgrounds and can be found in all types of communities. It canlead to a sense of despair, and emotional and mental health problems such asdepression and anxiety. In fact, it’s reported to be twice as bad for ourhealth as obesity.
Each year, the British Red Cross supports over onemillion people in the UK. The charity is present in all UK communities, providing unquestioning care and support to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Together the Co-operative and British Red Crosswill deliver radical and lasting change to support those experiencingloneliness across the UK. Together, we will provide vital support to the lonelyand isolated, reconnecting them to their communities and providing lifechanging care in their homes.
