Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is the now yearly challenge that I am organising for the Steve Prescottt Foundation charity. Steve Prescott played Rugby League for St Helens, Hull, Wakefield and Ireland and was a GB Lions Tourist.

In September 2006, Steve was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a rare form of Cancer, he was told that he would not see his two children grow up; he was given months to live.

Steve went on to raise thousands and thousands of pounds for these two charities whilst battling the cancer. Sadly he passed away in November 2013 and the world truly lost a great man. A man who was an inspiration to so many people and touched so many people’s lives. The world is a lesser place without him in it.

Steve has achieved to inspire us; to motivate us to face our own challenges and to look at what he did whilst battling cancer and say 'I'm going to give it a go'. That's why a small group of us (mainly, but not exclusively Hull KR fans) are going to give it a go and attempt to walk 40 miles over the North Yorkshire Moors in 24 hours or less. Please support us on our walk as I think we may well need it!!

About the charity

The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by a totally inspirational man Steve Prescott MBE. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. The SPF changes the lives of so many people.
