Story

Never thought I'd be running the London Marathon, but with my being made redundant 2012 seemed the ideal time to do it. So please sponsor me to help encourage me through the many miles I need to do in training, and in support of a worthwhile charity.

The charity I'm running for is MEDICS, which is close to my heart as it works alongside the Ambulance Service where I worked for 15 years. So, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

19 Nov - lovely 12 mile run along the Flitch Way, furthest run since last winter. Felt good.

26 Nov - 10 miles today as having an easier week before uping my distances again

3 December - 13 miles - halfway, hooray.

10 Dec - keeping my distances up, another 12 mile run today.

13 Dec - hard 10 mile run on a Tues night in the dark, bit boring but this is what I need to do. Trying to keep my swimming and cycling going too.

2 Jan - managed 17 miles, felt great! Need to ease off now so I don't peak too soon.

12 Feb - Having eased off, am now building again - did a hard 15 miles in sub-zero temperatures, was icy in places too so a bit slow, never mind its time on feet that matters, not speed.

27 Feb - Have rotten cold so had to ease off training

7 Mar - Great training session last night. Looking forward to Silverstone Half Marathon this weekend

11 Mar - Hot and sunny weather made Silverstone hard but managed a respectable 2:05

17 Mar - My longest run ever - 20 miles, 3:30hrs - was exhausted!
