Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Did the walk on Saturday. The weather was less kind than last year, the rain generally kept off and the sun even came out briefly! We managed to visit all 5 churches as planned. There was cider in one and a fascinating exhibition of Wedding and Baptism clothing and accessories in another, with hot drinks & delicious cakes on sale, so I carefully replaced any weight lost through the exercise. I've added a couple of pics to prove I did it.
As you know, I did the walk in memory of my Dad. He was a regular worshipper at the beautiful old church of St Mary's, Mudford; we need to raise £114,000 for urgent repairs to the tower, especially to PRESERVE OUR PINNACLES! Dad died at Christmas 2009 just over three months after he had completed a sponsored scoot around 3 of the 5 churches in our benefice, meeting up with me and some other walkers who were raising money for charity. HE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED HIMSELF; HE WAS SUCH AN INSPIRATION! I did the walk again last year in support of The Friends of Somerset Churches and Chapels, who have been very generous to St Mary's in the past. They get half of what I raise and the other half comes to St Mary's. Many thanks to all who have sponsored me. There's still time if you haven't done so yet.
