My story

Thanks to everyone who supported me - I completed the Edinburgh Marathon in 3 hours 47 minutes on probably the hottest day of the year. Well done to everyone who managed it :)

My wife works for I N UK, the national charity which supports the one in six couples who find they have difficulties conceiving their much wanted family. I wanted to help raise awarness of an issue which affects so many people, which brings so much heartache and yet the impact of which is vastly underestimated. I wanted to raise some money for the charity and help them change people's experiences of infertility and I would really appreciate your help.

I know what it's like to find you can't easily have the family you dreamt of - we have been so lucky to be successful but many others are still struggling and need the support of Infertility Network UK to help them cope. Many others will sadly never be successful in having the family they so much want and there is a section of I N UK called More to Life which offers support to those who remail involuntarily chldless.

After running the Glasgow Half Marathon in 2011 my buddy and training partner has talked me into doing the full Edinburgh Marathon (he forgets my age sometimes!). If you have been lucky enough to have children, just imagine for a moment what your life would have been like without your family and then take another moment to donate and help support those who are still trying.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. And on behalf of everyone who has problems conceiving - Thank you!
