James Mclaren is raising money for TeamPB
In memory of John Bryce Mclaren
Donations cannot currently be made to this page
The Prostate Cancer Charity and Breast Cancer Care have teamed up joint official charities for the 2012 Virgin London Marathon. Together we are TeamPB! Our goal is to recruit our biggest team to date and to raise £1 million to help change the lives of those affected by prostate and breast cancer. Prostate cancer and breast cancer are the most common cancers in men and women respectively in the UK today. This year 37,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and 50,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Combined, more than 750,000 people are living with these two cancers in the UK right now. By running together we can raise more awareness and more money to support the more than 750,000 people living with these two cancers in the UK right now. Donations and Gift Aid made to the Team PB JustGiving pages will be split 50/50 between both charities.

Story

Hey all - thanks for visiting my sponsorship page. I usually try and raise money for The Prostate Cancer Charity at the 'big one' (i.e. London Marathon). Well this year they've teamed up with Breast Cancer Care as 'TeamPB' - the official charity of the Virgin London Marathon 2012. I don't want to embark on a big spiel, but I think most of us have been touched by the trauma these two cancers can cause. I've had one close relative who was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. Fortunately it was found early, she was given excellent care and treatment and has now made a full recovery. A good friend was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and is making a good recovery after receiving the kind of treatment that charities like the PCC help to fund the research and development for. The advances that have been made in recent years - and continue to be made - may be too late for my dad, but will hopefully be there for us all in the future.

Enough of my waffling. Thanks again for your support. Here comes the JustGiving blurb....

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
