My story

How Do People,

Right dig deep. I am running in 31 days. I have trainned and have the blisters to prove it. I have spent a fortune on many things that I hoped to help me from Indian tribe wind chimes to running socks.

Please help me to raise as much as possible.

It will be painful for me, funny to you and helpful for STEPS.

So dig deep.

Cheers

A slightly slimmer Jim

xx

Guys,

Some bad news I am afraid, I have taken some medical advice and have had to pull out of the Adidas Half marathon. I have had man-flu for the last couple of weeks, and am literally coughing up phlem for fun (sorry gross i know). I have been to the Chiropractor this morning and ben adjusted again. I just cant physically compete on Sunday. I was working until 6am Sunday morning, then travelling to Northampton to run at 11am. I am really sorry and will obviously refund anybody who sponsored me on the back of doing both the half and the full marathon.

The target was the London Marathon and I dont want to jepodise that, I do however have Saturday 10th, Sunday 11th March booked at the Hilton Northampton at a cost of £130 to myself and I am happy to sell these to anybody in the area and donate that money to this charity.

The good news other than this upset is that I have lost 2 stone and 4 pounds and prior to this illness was on course in the training. I hope to continue training by Monday at the latest. I did try today but was coughing up all manner of things within 20 steps.

Please continue to sponsor me!

Guys,

You all know me to be "Fat Jim", so to hear that I am going to run the London Marathon is, well at least lets say funny!

So this should be even funnier.... I am not only running the London Marathon on the 22nd April but the Silverstone Half Marathon on 11th March 2012. This happened because I applied to the London Marathon through the ballot system because the charity I wanted to run for wasnt a listed charity, I didnt get through. They then offered me a place in the half marathon at Silverstone, I took this through relief! 13 miles doddle!!! lol and then the lovely people at STEPS rang me and said that they could get me a place in the marathon! Great! I am now runnning both... 39 miles! Thats Shrewsbury to Birmingham!

I am totally out of shape and weigh in at 16 stone, so its probably well advised for me to have my own ambulance following me the enitre 39 miles.

I am running for STEPS a charity which helps children with clubfoot, talipes and hip disorders. This is a charity close to my heart as my little boy Freddie was born with unilateral talipes on his right foot. Fortunately my son hasnt had the severe version and apart from having to have physio it doesnt really upset his life. Freddie was lucky and so was Steven Gerrard also born with talipes, however some familes havent been so lucky and face a whole world of visits to the hospital and physios.

So a fat guy running the marathon will be funny to you, painful to me and hopefully helpful for STEPS.

Dig deep and give me cash!

I know that the marathon isnt until April 2012 but this just means I should be able to collect more money!
