<p>I decided to get involved with a company fundraising challenge and try and shed some tonnage at the same time. We publish Mr Men books and this led to the theme.</p> <p>It's Mr Tickle's 40th birthday this year - and the Tickle Team of Egmont and Friends decided to celebrate by challenging itself to cycle from Giggleswick in Yorkshire to Ticklerton in Shropshire to raise funds for a very worthy charity!</p> <p>So we'll be jumping on our bikes and doing exactly that on 22-24th July 2011.&nbsp; It's a long way - 52 miles on day 1, followed by 69 miles on day 2 - so do dig deep and help us reach our target!&nbsp; Springboard for Children is a fabulous charity which gives the gift of literacy to children who struggle with reading.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: 130%;"><span style="line-height: 130%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: #1c1c1c; font-size: 10pt;">&ldquo;If you can't read, you are excluded at all levels of education and society. Many children in primary schools today are facing failure and frustration every day because they cannot read and write. Springboard for Children offers intensive literacy support to hundreds of children throughout the UK, giving them the basic literacy skills they need for life.&rdquo; </span></p> <p>It costs Springboard &pound;30,000 to set up in a new school, so we're going to stretch ourselves to see if we can help them do just that!</p>
