Story

Many thanks to those of you who have already sponsored me and as I completed my first ever Triathlon yesterday I'm still hoping for more donations.

The hardest part was definitely getting into a freezing lake at 8am and swimming in deep, cold, lakewater for half a mile.  The cycle was a challenge as I had a mountain bike (every other competitor had a road/racing bike!), but I was extremely pleased with my time on the run, I managed to overtake many people on the 2 lap circuit of the lake.

As you can see from the photo I won a trophy from the Benevolent Charity and a well deserved bottle of Bollinger champagne!

I enjoyed the challenge and will definitely be doing it again next year (this time with the correct bike!) and will aim to complete it 15 mins quicker.  My target yesterday was 2hrs but I managed it in 1hr 45.

Very early on Sunday 6th September  I will be taking part in my first Triathlon at The Cotswold Water Park which includes a 750m swim (in a lake), a 20km bike ride and a 5km run.

I am raising money for the Drink's Industry Benevolent Charity and would appreciate any support.  I just hope my legs last out.
